Where to Buy Cheap Storage Baskets

Using baskets is a great way to get organized.

The problem is that organization is fluid. So, what works for you today, may not work for you tomorrow.

So, it doesn’t make a lot of sense to invest in expensive storage because you may want to change it up as time goes on.

Here are some options in cheap storage baskets that may work in your space.

One thing to also keep in mind is that the price is often relative to the size.

Smaller baskets are cheaper while larger baskets in the same design will cost more.

Before I dive into the inexpensive options – let me start with ones that come free.

If you are looking to organize a drawer or a closet that no one ever looks at – then turn to containers you might already have.

They aren’t pretty but they do the job.

My personal favorite alternative to storage baskets are boxes.

The ones that work best for me are

ones that come with your electronics (especially Apple devices),
shoe boxes,
and the really pretty boxes that my Erin Condren orders come in.

1. Dollar Tree

The next best place to look for cheap storage baskets is Dollar Tree.

Everything at Dollar Tree costs – you guessed it – a dollar. So, you know the price will be inexpensive.

To make sure that you are getting a basket that fits your needs and planned usage, pay close attention to the dimensions and the reviews.

2. Target

My second choice in finding cheap storage bins is Target.

Target has so many fun options from woven storage baskets to more structured plastic bins that you can place on wire shelves.

3. Amazon

While Amazon has a large selection of baskets, I only found a few that were less than $10.

One of my favorites is this structured felt basket with dividers.

I have seen people use this to tote their planners and accessories – especially if you work from home and have to set up your workspace in different areas of the house.

You might be surprised to find that the description of this bag is actually a diaper tote.

However, it does not look like a diaper tote in the least bit and would make a great mobile office.

5. Kohl’s

Kohl’s is also a favorite place for me to find inexpensive storage bins and baskets.

At first glance, the prices may seem a bit high – but Kohl’s often offers percent off coupons and Kohl’s cash, too.

This can bring the cost down significantly.

6. Bed Bath & Beyond

Similar to Kohl’s, you can get good prices on storage baskets at Bed Bath & Beyond if you use a 20% off coupon.

They have a good selection and sell them in sets, too.
