Erin Condren Planner Tote – Which Strap to Choose?

Hi there! I just picked up an Erin Condren Planner Tote (and a Planner Bag, too!) – and I love it. But now that I own one, I have some ideas for you about picking a strap.

What is the Planner Tote?

If you are not familiar – the Erin Condren Planner Tote is actually a gorgeous tote bag that you can use to carry more than just your LifePlanner and planner accessories.

It’s actually a really nice briefcase, work bag, or school bag.

Erin Condren Bags come in two different styles – the Planner TOTE is a bigger size and the Planner BAG is more compact, and though it is smaller than the Tote, it is still roomy enough to fit your LifePlanner and a few other things.

The Totes and Bags also come in different materials – there are a few colors available in canvas and there is also a metallic suede and a black leather option.

But no matter which style or material you choose – you get the option to pick from a variety of different straps when you order your bag.

So, which strap should you choose?

What is the Best Strap for the Erin Condren Planner Tote or Planner Bag?

All of the straps are beautiful and a good quality – BUT there is something you need to keep in mind:

At the time of this writing, the Metallic Suede and Black Leather straps are NOT available a la carte.

What this means is that if you order an Erin Condren Planner Tote or Bag in the following materials:

• Metallic Suede or
• Black Leather

you will NOT be able to buy a Metallic Suede or Black Leather strap separately at a later time.

So, in my opinion, if you are buying a Metallic Suede or Black Leather Tote or Bag – it makes the most sense to order it with the “self” strap – meaning the strap that is the same material as the bag that you choose.

Then you can order as many fabric straps as you want a la carte to change up the look of your bag.

If you order an Erin Condren Planner Tote or Planner Bag in any of the canvas options – then any of the available straps would be a good choice.

Which Strap Did I Choose?

My Erin Condren Planner Tote is Metallic Suede – so I chose the Metallic Suede strap for my order.

Because I really liked the Tote, I decided to also order the Erin Condren Planner BAG in the same material – Metallic Suede.

And for the BAG – I also chose the Metallic Suede strap. However, I did add a few of the fabric straps to my order as well.

The Bag is not here yet – but when I get it, I will be sure to do a review.
