One of my favorite finds this year is the Pottery Barn Ruched Fur Throw. I love it so much that I thought I would do a review for you.
I’ve had my eye on this throw for quite some time – so this holiday season I decided I would treat myself and picked up not one but two of this cozy blanket.
About the Pottery Barn Ruched Fur Throw
The Pottery Barn Ruched Fur Throw comes in 2 sizes and a variety of colors.
One side of the throw is a soft, furry material that is somewhat gathered to create a sort of “bunchy” effect. According to the Pottery Barn site, this side is made from 85% acrylic, 13% polyester, and 2% spandex.
The underside of the throw is a smooth velour style material. This side is 100% polyester.
The top and bottom layers are only attached to each other around the edges so the blanket is even more “bunchy” throughout.
Overall, I think this makes it really cozy and gives the throw a nice “puddling” effect when you drape it over a sofa or chair.
Which Size Throw is Best?
The throw comes in the following sizes:
- The small throw is 50×60
- The large throw is 60×80
Because I couldn’t decide – I picked up one in each size.
My smaller blanket is Gray and the larger one is Ivory.
I’ll give you my initial thoughts on the sizes.
The first throw that I bought was the smaller one.
Both throws are a bit weighty so I thought the smaller one would be easier to wash (and it probably is).
However, once I brought the smaller throw home and put it to use, I realized that the larger blanket would probably be more cozy when snuggling on the couch and watching tv.
I found that with the smaller one, I was always adjusting it to try and get good coverage.
So, I decided to put the smaller throw over a stand alone chair and I brought home the larger throw for using on the couch.

What I Like the Most
There are many things about this throw to love:
- It looks gorgeous in your room
- The puddle like drape makes it look very upscale
- The blanket is very warm
- Great for snuggling on cold winter days
Things To Note
Here are a few things to be aware of:
- The throw does shed a bit
- It is very warm – so you may get too hot
- The weight is substantial so consider the size of your washing machine
- Washing instructions say to wash on cold, gently cycle and line dry (my sales associate also said to air dry – NOT to use dryer).
Would I Buy It Again?
I think the obvious answer here is – yes (since I did already purchase it twice)!
I love the look and feel of the Pottery Barn Ruched Fur Throw and it really fits with my decor.
While I do own both sizes of this throw, if I had to do it again – I would go for the larger size. I find the bigger size to be more comfortable, easier to snuggle, and best to share.
