Passion Planner Review

If you know me, you know that I just have to try all. the. planners. It’s a bit of an obsession. And after doing this for such a long time, I have forced myself to choose just one to use for the current year. My choice this year is the Passion Planner and in this review I will tell you why.
Before I get started, I do want to mention that the pages of the Passion Planner are pretty consistent from year to year. So, while my current photos are of the 2026 Passion Planner, chances are that the pages will be similar for future versions, and this review will still apply.
This is the lowdown on my 2026 planner – the cover color is Dusty Rose. It is a weekly layout with a Monday start in the large (7.8 inch x 11 inch size).
I also want to note that the Passion Planner does not come with tabs. However, the company does sell them separately in a variety of color combinations. The tabs that you see in my photos are the Peach Sunrise color combo, and I purchased and attached them myself.
Couldn’t help myself. 😉
What Is The Passion Planner?
The one thing that makes the Passion Planner stand out from the crowd is that it is both a calendar-style planner and a goal planner designed to help you set goals, track your progress, and find success. Basically, it is a tool for you to use to follow your passions.
Most planners help you keep track of your events and activities, but rarely do they help you improve your personal productivity. The Passion Planner combines goal setting tools with alongside the typical calendar functions so you can find time to FOCUS on the important things that will really make a difference in achieving what you want in life.
The very first pages of the Passion Planner give you space to create a mind map of both your long-term and short-term goals. They call this your Passion Roadmap. You complete this at the beginning of the year and also midway through at the beginning of July.
Then you are encouraged to pick just one of those goals and break it down further into actionable steps.
There are also guided planning pages at the beginning that you use to reflect on your core values and create a vision board. This is followed by a section of Habit Trackers for each month.
The Passion Planner Monthly Layout
The Passion Planner sports a standard monthly layout followed by a 2 page per week layout with hourly columns for each day.
What I love about both the monthly and weekly layouts is that there is lots of space to the left and at the bottom of the pages to jot in project lists and notes. Technically, the blank space on the bottom left of the monthly layout is for a mindmap – but you could really use this for anything.
The Passion Planner Weekly Layout
The weekly layout in the Passion Planner is an hourly, two page per week design. There is one column for each day and it starts at 6:00am with lines for every half hour until 10:30pm. This hourly space takes up the two-thirds of the page (approximately).
The bottom third allows some lined space for your to-do’s and a blank space or the “space of infinite possibility” that you can use for creating lists, additional mind maps, or whatever else you choose.
On the left side there is a column with space for you to list this week’s focus and good things that happened. But you could repurpose this to jot down anything you like.
I find this layout to be perfect for using the time blocking method for organizing my plans for the day.
Space to Reflect
At the end of each month are a few pages with guided questions that you can use to reflect on the month that just finished. If you want to move forward with your goals, then completing this reflection section is really important.
Taking the time to look back and track your goal progress will help you adjust your plans for the month ahead.
What worked? What didn’t? You need to know this so you don’t keep doing the same old things and expect different results.
End of the Year Reflection
When you get to the end of the year, there are guided questions to help you reflect back on the entire year and set your plan for the year ahead.
Notes Pages and Pocket
At the very end of the Passion Planner you will find a good number of dot grid note pages and some blank notes pages as well. Use to capture important notes that require more space or for lists of things you want to keep track of throughout the year.
There is also a large pocket in the back cover to corral any loose papers that you want to keep track of.

You have a huge variety of choices for your Passion Planner cover and also for the size of the planner itself.
Passion Planner Colors
When I first reviewed The Passion Planner many years ago, there were just a few different covers to choose from. There was a standard black cover that works for just about anyone and a handful of other options.
Today, there are so many options that making a choice will be a difficult decision! There are plain solid colors and others that are embossed, that have patterns, and even some that are embellished with golden accents. It all comes down to personal preference. I love my planner with the Dusty Rose cover. It looks pretty on my desk and makes me happy to look at it. Also, I think that the company does add some new colors and designs each year.
Your best bet is to visit the official site to see the current colors that are available.
Choices of Layouts and Formats
This review walks you through the Weekly planner. But Passion Planner also offers planner books in some other layouts and formats including:
- an undated daily planner (2 pages per day),
- a dot grid bullet journal
- a mid year planner that starts in July
- guided journals (including a really comprehensive reading journal that I think I have to have – would also make a great gift for any avid reader friends)
- digital planner for use on your tablet or iPad
You can also further customize your weekly Passion Planner by picking your start DAY – Sunday or Monday.
Passion Planner Sizes
The weekly Passion Planner comes in 3 different sizes noted as follows, in inches:
- Small (5.8″ x 8.3″) – this is also known as an A5 size planner
- Medium (6.9″ x 9.8″)
- and Large (7.8×11″)
If you are trying to decide between two sizes – for example, the large vs small, consider the size of your handwriting, and also whether the planner will fit in your bag or backpack.
Some of the other layouts and styles of planners are not available in all sizes, so check the product description of the one you are interested in.
Planner Accessories
Passion Planner now offers a range of planner accessories that you can use with your planner. If you prefer monthly tabs in your planner, you can buy these on the site as well as things like markers, stickers, washi tape, and notepads.
Is Passion Planner the Best One for Setting Goals?
If you are looking for a planner that will help you to stay focused on goals that matter – The Passion Planner is a pretty darn good choice.
When you use this unique planner, you will frame your time around your goals – never losing sight of that one thing that will take you to the next level on your ladder to success.

At the end of the day I think the Passion Planner is absolutely worth it.
